How do you get involed in music?

so its all about who you know, so i want to know people. and i don't know where to start. howeverrrrr i sold a little pocket amp today, and the lady owned an entertainment company and is interested in gigging me (I'm a mobile DJ) could this be my way in? do i need multiple ways in? what do you think? how do i NOT muff this up?

    Just run with it. Do the best job you can do with what's given and take it from there. I don't know about DJ specifically, but in the (Local)music industry, you don't get many chances like that! give your shows 110% and hope it pays of man.
